In conversation with Kashika Grover, a choreographer, a fitness trainer and an engineer.

“I have been dancing since I was only seven years old. It was only in 2020 that I finally decided that this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life and so then and there I decided to explore many other dance forms and make contacts with people who share my love for dance and fitness.”

Introduction

Kashika is a twenty-five-year-old choreographer trained in Kathak, bollyhop, jazz and various other dance forms. She is also a fitness trainer and an engineer. She was seven when she discovered her passion for dancing and she has always been a fitness freak. At eighteen she started ‘Dancing Feet’, a dance studio while pursuing BTech from Dronacharya College of Engineering. After getting her degree, she moved to Mumbai to work for an IT company but she never let go of her love for dancing.

After taking a break from teaching dance in her hometown for almost two years, Kashika decided to reopen her studio in Gurugram, Haryana. “Groovers’ Dance and Fitness Studio”, offers online and offline dance training, event/wedding/corporate choreography, event planning and fitness training.

Beginning of her Fitness Journey

Kashika has been a choreographer for almost seven years now and in the past seven years, she has come across many people who were dealing with PCOD, thyroid and self-image issues. So four years ago, she decided to become a fitness trainer along with a choreographer. Her clientele is based in India as well as abroad.

“I really wanted to help people so when I came across women who were dealing with PCOD, thyroid, weight issues and self-image issues, I asked myself ‘I can be a fitness trainer so why not help these people get better?’ So four years ago, I decided to do more than teaching dance. The smile on the faces of my clients when they get fitter and start feeling better is just impeccable, it makes me so happy.”

Conclusion

She believes that doing the right exercise is as important as maintaining a healthy diet that suits your body. At Groovers’ Dance and Fitness Studio, they believe that fitness has no gender.
